Hi, I have recently puchased Premium to be able to upload backups to cloud storage other than google. I have Strato Hidrive and I put this into the constructed URL:
webdavs://updraftpluspremium:**********@webdav.hidrive.strato.com (which is my user and password, working fine from windows explorer)
What I get when I do “Test WebDAV Settings” is a popup saying:
updraft_send_command: error: UpdraftPlus: could not parse the JSON (502)
This happens no matter whether I add a path or not
I have Version 2.24.4.26
Can you please help? Is this a known issue with webdav/hidrive? Does UDP support SMB (which is another protocol Hidrive supports)
Thanks a lot, MichaelSeptember 13, 2024 at 12:56 pm #2242229udadminKeymasterYour post contains a link that contains a link with wp-admin in it, linking to a WordPress admin dashboard. Apologies for the automated reply. It does not apply to you.
Normally this kind of error is cause by timeout in PHP-FPM.
Would we be able to test your settings?

Do you have mod_security enabled on your site?
September 18, 2024 at 5:48 pm #2246259Michael TheurichParticipantHi,
my provider runs php-7.4, and my phpinfo does not show any modules loaded. How else can I learn whether it is enabled?
I will try ask my provider. So mod_security is required?
September 18, 2024 at 8:52 pm #2246401Michael TheurichParticipantaccording to provider, mod_security is enabled.
September 18, 2024 at 8:55 pm #2246402udadminKeymastermod_security returns 502 errors if it decides that an HTTP request is in some way unusual and should be blocked.
In this case, it’s making a false positive, blocking your attempt to save your settings (which are of course not an attacker’s attempt to break-in).
So, the thing to do is to tell your provider about the false positive, so that they can identify and modify the configuration rule that incorrectly decides that your settings saving is a hostile attack.
