can't login to wordpress after cloning to localhost

Having backup my site to my dropbox I have tried to clone it on to a fresh wordpress install on my local machine. The site restores with no problems but now I can’t login to wordpress. Clicking on mywebsite or manual entry in the address bar directs me directly to the local website without offering to login to wordpress. I then have no Dashboard. How do resolve this ?
