I’m trying to clone/migrate and method 1 doesn’t work (I get remotesend errors)
When I try manually creating backup files, the database backup file is in .gz format, and doesn’t get recognized when I try to restore that to the receiving site. This plugin isn’t working at all for me.

0147.078 (1) ERROR: remotesend: Failed to upload file: backup_2015-08-12-1002_Deliza_Agency_4b3c010ed84c-plugins.zip

There were two identical database files, so the one that didn’t get recognized was the …(1).gz file. Once I removed the (1), it worked fine.

I think the remote send errors were due to the destination installation being password protected (with a different admin password than the source installation). The manual process works fine, but after restore, the admin username and the admin password are the same as the source installation.

    Hi Janet,

The manual process works fine, but after restore, the admin username and the admin password are the same as the source installation.

That’s expected – in WordPress, usernames and passwords are part of the WordPress database. So, restoring a database, will set the list of valid usernames/passwords to what was in the restored database.
