database restore failure repeatable on 2 servers

I am having a bad morning with a client project deliverable. Restoration of database keeps failing. Worked 1 out of 3 times (the 1 time was on a dev url unfortunately).

I have a screen shot of the error if there is a way to upload.

The URL error (consistent on a shared host and a plesk VPS host) and WP errors are below:

The fact that it worked on a 3rd dev site install is baffling. But it confirms the database backups are good. I tried 3 DB backups and the same error repeats.

I am using the most recent versions of WordPress / UpdraftPlus Premium

Here is an update – the above after retesting is only happening on 1 budget host – namecheap.com specifically. The other test was still on Namecheap as the DNS did not propagate yet and I jumped the gun on one of the tests. So 5 times the same result on the Namecheap server.

I will open a ticket with Namecheap as well.

Is that host no longer recommended by Up Draft? I use them for low-traffic clients with minimal hosting needs and has worked well until today.

Hi Mike,

It is a common issue for shared hosted sites as UpdraftPlus has been designed to be dependent on server resources. There are ways to reduce server resource as you can read on our FAQ page here – https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-much-resources-does-updraftplus-need/
