November 17, 2016 at 7:29 pm #180734RichardParticipantThe folder is supposed to be in UpdraftPlus.com
But the plugin is reading backups in Updraftplus folder. Then when restoring can’t find them in Updraftplus.com folder
Moving the files to the Updraftplus.com folder doesn’t fix the problem either.
November 18, 2016 at 6:59 pm #180863Dee NutbourneModeratorHi Richard,
A 404 error indicates that there may be a different issue with a security module called mod_security blocking the download.
Please could you ask your hosts/server admin is mod_security is enabled?

David NNovember 18, 2016 at 7:30 pm #180868AndyParticipantdifferent problem,.. sounds like a new ticket.. im bowing out of this.
thanks David for fixing the 400
November 21, 2016 at 5:49 pm #181163RichardParticipantHi,
I have checked on the server and the Apache module mod_security is enabled.
I have double checked that the backup files are in the correct dropbox folder and reauthed again but still getting the 404 error when restoring.
November 21, 2016 at 7:01 pm #181176Dee NutbourneModeratorHi Richard,
Could you (or your server admin) try disabling mod_security and attempt the restoration?
mod_security has been known to block connections from UpdraftPlus. You should also be able to whitelist the connection to Dropbox in the mod_security configuration.Best Wishes,
David NNovember 21, 2016 at 7:57 pm #181181RichardParticipantHi,
I have disabled it for all of my sites through a disable mod security option in my cPanel
Still getting the 404, is there anything else I can try?Retrieving (if necessary) and preparing backup files…

Has fixed this issue for me for now. But I hope there will be a fix in the future.
November 22, 2016 at 3:52 am #181218bazajtParticipantI had the same problem, seemed when I updated to 2.12.27.22 things went wrong. I was using One Drive then it just stopped working.
Turned out that I had to go to Advanced Tools in the UpdraftPlus Settings on my website and select “Wipe Settings” then it let me correctly re-authenticate and it worked again.
Not sure what the update did but the site didn’t like it.
November 22, 2016 at 12:36 pm #181270RichardParticipantI did try to wipe the settings before reverting to version 2.12.23.22
but it didn’t help in my case.April 28, 2017 at 1:26 pm #206391RickyParticipantI know this is a long time from the above posts but I seemed to have some success by copying the authentication link and manually placing it in the address bar then the authentication went good
