    Wow, I’m starting to regret my decision to buy the premium version of UpdraftPlus today. First, I couldn’t upload the plugin via wp-admin plugins (add new). So, I see in the support here that I might need to ftp it up. Ok did that, and all seemed well. (Except for the fact that by ftp’ing it up, I realized that this plugin has 1297 files – what??? Nearly 1300 files? Sheesh, I know it’s a heavy duty plugin, but wow…that seems a little excessive).

    Anyway, next, I get the litespeed notification, so I look that up, and go off to add the code to .htacess. Good, error gone. Haven’t tried a backup yet, so no idea yet if it will work. We’ll see.

    Then, after activating my license in settings, the first thing I do is activate the dropbox addon. Immediately afterwards, I see I have a notification that says “An update containing your addons is available for UpdraftPlus – please follow this link to get it.” So I follow the link, and get a blank screen. Ugh.

    Next, I go to the Plugins admin page, and see that UpdraftPlus plugin has an update, so I try to update from there. Blank screen. Ugh.

    At this point, I’m unsure if this was worth all this. I’m thinking I threw my money down the drain.

    Help appreciated.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    An update is required to activate the add-ons. However, it appears that your site is encountering an error when attempting this update.

    Please could you turn on WordPress’ debug mode? To do this, please find your wp-config.php file via FTP, and edit the following line changing ‘false’ to ‘true’:
    define('WP_DEBUG', false);

    Could you then attempt to follow the add-on activation update link again? You should now see a number of error messages instead of the blank whitescreen.

    Best Wishes,
    David N

    Turning on debug didn’t show any errors (still got the blank screen), so I disabled all plugins, and was able to update with no problem. I don’t know which plugin was conflicting at this point, of course, so I guess next time I’ll go one at a time, until I find the one.

    Hopefully, the next 9 activations I do won’t have the same conflict. Fingers crossed. Thanks!
