We use updraft to move our staged development copy of the site to production and it works beautifully. The one thing that would make it perfect is if we could either exclude tables in the database from being backed up, or being restored. For example… if you have user submission data using a specific table that is stored on production…. it gets wiped out every time you restore from development. we would like a way to retain those entries on restore (think of users using things like gravity forms etc.)
I’ll make a note of this – it makes sense. For now, you can do this with a bit of manual activity – uncompress the database backup (7-zip.org), and remove the table from it. You’ll then need to re-compress it (until our next release, which will be happy to accept it uncompressed).
