google drive authentication not working

hello David,
great backup plugin, great migrator plugin also!

one thing is perplexing me for backing up:
i’ve tried to use the google drive option on two different sites and have the same issue with it not progressing to the authentication screen. I’ve copied and pasted the Client ID and secret, the Redirect URI and Javascript Origin as given by the google Developers’ Console. With copy/paste, all the info i’m entering is correct, but i’m getting the following result.

Error: invalid_client
no application name

Any tips for a way forward would be appreciated. I’m using FTP in the meantime, but would like to use Google drive directly.

Hi,

The meaning of that message is that the Client ID was copied wrongly. We have, however, had a couple of users who said that they retried using the old version of the Google Developer Console and had a different result. So, if you’re really sure the instructions were followed correctly, then try going through again using the old console.
