Hi I recently purchased the plugin. I noticed that when I manually update, I see the following sections: database; plugins; uploads; themes; core; others.
During the scheduled or automated backups, only the database and plugins are backed up.How do I automated backup of my uploads?
Also in my upload, I have a couple of large file warnings. Does this mean those large files are not backed up?If so, is there a way around?
Thank youJanuary 2, 2018 at 12:27 pm #252470Bryle CroduaModeratorHi,
To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the backup log?
This log can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the UpdraftPlus dashboard. If you cannot access the UpdraftPlus dashboard, then you can find the log file in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory via FTP or your hosts’ file manager.
Also, could you send us a screenshot of the ‘Existing Backups’ tab?

It says, ” No backup of uploads: excluded by user’s options” although this option is checked. See
this screenshot
Also see latest statusPlease let me know how to ensure uploads are also backed up as per my weekly backup settings.

Apologies for the delay.
I’m afraid that the backup log is no longer available through that link. Please could you re-post it?
The automatic backups before an update (as shown in the screenshot) will only backup the relevant sections of the site. These will be the Database and either the Plugins, Themes or WordPress Core files.

My worry is that I have set updates to occur weekly on Fridays and have included uploads to be backed up, but those backups have not triggered (not even plugins and databases) and the latest log file says
“No backup of uploads: excluded by user’s options” which is not the case. This is the link to the log file

It appears that the scheduled event may not have been recreated.
Please could you install the free ‘WP Crontrol’ plugin?
Then go to Tools->Cron Events. You should see a list of scheduled events for the site.
Are the ‘updraft_backup’ and ‘updraft_database_backup’ present in this list? The last log message is likely an old message.

updraft_backup and
updraft_backup_database
It says the “next run” is on 12th Jan which is as expected. But it did not fire on Dec 29th and on Jan 5th (only Automatic backup before update on 5th)
January 11, 2018 at 6:08 pm #254415Dee NutbourneModeratorHi,
Please could you monitor for the backup run on the 12th, and send us a copy of the log if available?

A very large file was encountered: uploads/2012.zip (size: 294.7 Mb)
A very large file was encountered: uploads.zip (size: 294.8 Mb)Does this mean those two files will not be backed up?
This is the log file

January 12, 2018 at 6:39 pm #254658Dee NutbourneModeratorHi,
Is the linked file the full contents of the backup log? It appears to terminate partway through the plugins backup, but the warning messages indicate that the backup reached the Uploads at least.

David NJanuary 13, 2018 at 10:53 am #254759pattuParticipantThe last line is
“0170.325 (0) The backup apparently succeeded and is now complete”What I uploaded was truncated for some reason. The uploads have been backed up this time. I shall get back in case it does not happen again. Thank you for your time.
