I’m not sure how to backup other directories on my site using the “more files” option. I want to backup these directories:
    /images
    /includes
    /js

Or is there a way to back up everything using “more files” and exclude the WordPress directories? I have quite a lot of content on my site before I switched it over to WordPress and I still need to maintain most of it.

    Hi John,

If you select the ‘more files’ option, then it will back up all of those, and WordPress core. The WordPress directories only add 4Mb to the size of the backup, so I wouldn’t worry about excluding those… that’s not currently possible. But they’re harmless so there’s no problem in backing them up.

David, to backup my full public_html directory, would these be the correct settings? (btw, is there a way to post a screenshot to this forum?)

    Include in files backup:
    [ ] Plugins
    [ ] Themes
    [ ] Uploads
[ ] WordPress core (including any additions to your WordPress root directory)
[X] Any other directories found inside wp-content
    Exclude these: [upgrade,cache,updraft,index.php]
[X] Any other directory on your server that you wish to back up
    Enter the directory: [/home/my_site/public_html/]

    Hi,

Yes, that would back up your whole public_html directory.

I think the easiest way to post an image is to use https://snag.gy (or similar) and copy/paste the resulting link.

    Best wishes,
    David
