For some reason, after a good couple of years of successful migrations, I’ve suddenly started to have major issues with the migration tool.

I have a website which I’ve been developing at https://timmymallettmirror.sykes-creative.co.uk. I’m now in a position to be able to transfer it to another server in preparation for it going live. It’s going for final testing here: https://dev2.brillianttv.co.uk/.

Using the latest back-up, which includes the db, themes, plugins and uploads, I’ve uploaded these to a new wordpress install on the destination server and run through the restore feature, telling it to search and replace existing site address references.

It runs through the restore process and then asks me to log-in again, fine, however when you log back in, visit the site, all the images are missing and half the theme seems incomplete.

After looking at the back-up, it doesn’t seem that there are any of the uploaded images there for some reason, even though they’re supposed to be there and I’m not doing anything different to what I normally do.

I’ve also just purchased the ‘back-up additional files’ plug-in from Updraftplus just in case that was an issue.

Has anyone come across this before please?

Hi,

From your description it appears that the migration has failed partway.

Please could you send us a copy of the migration log? This can be found in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of the new site via FTP.

The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the links here.

Are you using any form of redirection plugin on the site?
