I have a bunch of sites on Godaddy Managed WordPress hosting, and I want to migrate them over to SiteGround $160 month cloud account I purchased. I have a cpanel, and I need help with understanding how to setup the “receiving” site? Is there some easier way to do this, which does not involve editing options tables, and juggling edits to htaccess files?

    1. when migrating from non ssl godaddy Managed wordpress dev site, what should be the “protocol” at Siteground?

    2. when migrating from non ssl godaddy Managed wordpress www site, what should be the “protocol” at Siteground?

    3. when migrating from Standard SSL godaddy Managed wordpress dev site, what should be the “protocol” at Siteground?

    4. when migrating from non ssl godaddy Managed wordpress dev site, what should be the “protocol” at Siteground?

    5. How do I check the new site and import the files?

    6. Does Updraft CLONE allow someone to clone that temporary site up to the Updraft Cloud (migrate over from Godaddy) and then give me the ability to clonedown to SITEGROUND?

    7. What is the meaning of life? ;) Skype me and tell me at SMARTCHOICEWEB

    Hi,

As you are moving hosts, I am assuming that your site URLs are not updating?
If so, I would recommend the following guide on moving hosts with UpdraftPlus:
    https://updraftplus.com/support/moving-hosts/

The UpdraftClone tool is mainly intended for creating temporary test sites, for testing updates or other changes. For a migration, it would simply add an extra, superfluous step in the process.

    Best Wishes,
