Just want to confirm if a domain should point first in the server to generate a URI for OneDrive authentication. Currently, my website is accessible only through an IP address.

Another thing, what if there’s already a domain pointing to my server but I redirected it for the meantime to another website? How can it affect Onedrive backup?

What’s appearing on my settings page for Onedrive is:
“This site uses a URL which is either non-HTTPS, or is localhost or 127.0.0.1 URL. As such, you must use the main UpdraftPlus OneDrive App to authenticate with your account.”

    Hi,

You can authenticate with OneDrive before the domain is pointing to the server.
As a standard, OneDrive authentication goes through a central app on our server, to allow non-HTTPS sites to connect to OneDrive.

In the OneDrive settings, you should only see one field for OneDrive location. If so, save your settings and follow the OneDrive authentication link. You should be taken through the authentication process and given a success message when redirected back to your site.

Once you have set the domain, you may need to re-authenticate.

    Best Wishes,

P.S. If you see more options for OneDrive (such as Client ID and Secret), you will need to wipe your UpdraftPlus settings in the Advanced Tools tab, then reload the page. This will switch UpdraftPlus to use the correct authentication method.

    Bets Wishes,
