Hi
Since I updated WordPress to 6.7.1 I cannot do complete backups (database and more files), only database gets updated on my Dropbox.
I already tried reinstalling the plugin. What else could I try to do to make this work? Here is the log:

The log is for a manual backup where you have only selected the DB (not any of the files like the Plugins, Themes, Uploads)
For Manual backups, please press the three dots next to “Include your files in the backup (..) and ensure the relevant files are selected;December 13, 2024 at 11:31 am #2320812ada.botonjicParticipantHi Vanessa
I did some screenshots of my situation so you can undertand better what is happening.
Here you can check them out: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ypD21Pg7Em15QVLCllMcW7USL0XmNWGY?usp=sharing
The correct order to watch them is defined by the fist number in their title png.
Here you can find the log of that backup https://drive.google.com/file/d/1J42BdK9aCLt0ac_03ChzQiPr335pStQ1/view?usp=sharing.As you can see, I did select files to be included (I selected “Any other file/directory on your server that you wish to backup” because this is what I need)…but the result is without files.
Thank you
December 13, 2024 at 9:07 pm #2321220VanessaModeratorAny other file/directory on your server that you wish to backup- this is “More” portion of the backup
For most people this is optional.
What you need to backup are the DB, Plugins, Themes, Uploads – Others and Core for most people are optional (I don’t back these up or restore these as I don’t have any specific customisations)
I can’t access your Google files as it says I need permission.December 16, 2024 at 2:38 pm #2323160ada.botonjicParticipantI’m sorry Vanessa, I just changed permission for my google files and now you should be able to see everything.
You say “What you need to backup are the DB, Plugins, Themes, Uploads”, we have a company policy to backup everything, whole “public_html” folder, as you’ll see in screenshots.
Thank youDecember 16, 2024 at 7:39 pm #2323348VanessaModeratorHi,
Any other file/directory on your server that you wish to backup – this will back up anything in your public html that is not your DB, Plugins, Uploads, Themes, Others or Core sections of your site.. You still need to backup all of those other files. You will not have a usable backup just backing up “any other file/directory”
December 17, 2024 at 7:56 am #2323719ada.botonjicParticipantHi Vanessa
In the folder “public_html” there are all files of website: wp core (wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes….), themes, plugins, uploads…
Can you please help me to solve the problem. Do you need credentials to a website so you can check for yourself all the settings. I do same backups on 15 other websites, same settings, same everything, and on other 15 websites everything works as expected, only on that site, nanosystem.it, I have this problem: only db is backed up and all the files are missing.Thank you
December 17, 2024 at 6:06 pm #2324114VanessaModeratorThe key bit is “any other file/directory”- This means anything that is not backed up in the Core, Others, Plugins, Themes, Uploads or DB that resides in the public_html
December 19, 2024 at 9:01 am #2325378ada.botonjicParticipantHi Vanessa
I hope you saw my screenshots where you can see that I’m not selecting Core, Others, Plugins, Themes, Uploads but only “any other file/directory” which is “public_html”, which means that everything that is there should be backud up. As I said I have the same settings on other 15 websites and when I launch a backup (manually o programmed) I get on dropbox in a zipped file with everything that is in “public_html” and file with DB. Only on nanosystem.it this is not working. .
I understand that you are saying that is correct that I don’t have my files backud up because “The key bit is “any other file/directory”- This means anything that is not backed up in the Core, Others, Plugins, Themes, Uploads or DB that resides in the public_html”. But that doesn’t explain my settings are working on other sites.Would you like me to create a screen video of what I’m saying so that you can understand better what’s the problem?
Thank you for your patience
January 5, 2025 at 11:59 pm #2338426VanessaModeratorHi,
Can you show me whats in your files from the other backup.
I can confirm that the way you are doing it is not correct and that you do have to backup your DB, plugins, Themes and Uploads.
Can you take screenshots of the SQL file for your DB, your themes, plugins and uploads folders in your other backups for me?January 10, 2025 at 11:06 am #2342673ada.botonjicParticipantHi Vanessa
You can find all screenshots you asked here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JnaA_zoaQhihzSyFOIsmKs0Hk7YMk4Wy?usp=sharing
These screenshots are from a website antartika.it. I also added a log.I checked the plugin versions and as you can probably see from logs, nanosystem.it has a newer versione.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Thank you
January 10, 2025 at 9:11 pm #2343161VanessaModeratorIt looks like your backup was an incremental backup. Can you try running a full manual backup?
It looks to me like there were no changed files in the “more” section of the backup so nothing as uploaded.
Backing up the way that you are is really not how the plugin is supposed to be used. If you want to restore at any point, the process will be more difficult. -
