    Hello,
    I just tried to migrate a finished dev site on to the live domain and now i cant get into either of the site. I’ve done the migration lots of times with no problems, and it appeared to have worked, except that my live site took on the domain name of my dev site, which was unacceptable of course.

    So I tried changing the live site to the correct domain name in “settings > WordPress Address (URL)” now what happens is the dev site tries to load the live site address and both sites are now offline, with the following message:

    “This site can’t be reached

    http://www.althingsmac.co.uk’s server DNS address could not be found.
    Did you mean https://www.allthingsmac.co.uk/?
    Search Google for althingsmac co uk
    ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED”

    Both sites are on the same server and I have cpanel access etc

    What should i do please?

    Dev site: allthingsmac.ck.jasonjones. co.uk
    live site allthingsmac.co.uk

    This is urgent :( as the site was supposed to be live

    UPDATE:
    I went into phpmyadmin and changed the address of my dev site back to what it was and that site now works again.

    The problem is now when I click on http://www.allthingsmac.co.uk which is the live domain that I migrated to – it takes me back to the dev site: http://www.althingsmac.ck.jasonjones.co.uk/

    please help

    I have also tried this but it did not work

    define(‘WP_SITEURL’, ‘https://allthingsmac.co.uk’);
    define(‘WP_HOME’, WP_SITEURL);

    Hi the target site is actually https not http – would that affect it?

    https://www.althingsmac.co.uk

    Hi,

    When attempting to access the sites, https://www.althingsmac.co.uk appears to be working, but https://www.althingsmac.ck.jasonjones.co.uk/ is redirecting me to https://www.althingsmac.co.uk.

    Could you double check that you added the site URL define to the correct wp-config.php?

    Best Wishes,
    David N
