I’m attempting to clone/migrate a site and no matter if I upload the files manually to do a restore or if I use the migrate/clone function it’s just not working. I’ve been attempting this for a couple of days now so any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know what you need from me. thanks.
October 29, 2015 at 9:38 pm #132752udadminKeymasterHi Jason,
Please can you describe some of the symptoms of the problem you’re having? “It’s just not working” isn’t giving us a lot of information to go on! Actions taken, things seen, error messages, screenshots – those sorts of things will help.

October 29, 2015 at 11:02 pm #132758JasonParticipantSorry for the vague description. I thought maybe I could pull a log file from somewhere to send. Currently I’m following the instructions from here https://updraftplus.com/faqs/error-message-pclzip_err_bad_format-10-mean/ as I’d received the PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) error. Current status on this attempt is that the Restore – backup screen (Do not press stop or close your browser until it reports itself as having finished.) has been up for about an hour and a half at this point. It hasn’t yet reported itself as having finished. Current screenshot here: https://www.screencast.com/t/58zeosdJu1ib Could that be right to take that long? The backup has 2 upload folders/zip files. one at ~ 520MB and the other at ~ 240MB I imagine UpdraftPlus splits them at a certain size? Thanks!

It could be that the error is with the javascript on that page.
Could you run the following test with your browser’s developer tools?
- In your browser, press CTRL+SHIFT+I (Command+SHIF+I on a Mac), a sub-window should appear
- Open the ‘Console’ tab if it is not already open
- Reload the page and attempt to restore the migrated files again
- Do you see any errors appear in the developer console? Could you send me a copy of screenshot of those errors?
Best Wishes,
David NOctober 30, 2015 at 9:10 pm #132880JasonParticipantHi David, I had to manually clone it. one thing I noticed is that the restore was maxing out my I/O Usage on the server. Perhaps that’s why it could never fully restore. Pieces and parts were there like pages, posts but media files were not making it and some plugins weren’t working properly. the clone/migrate worked perfectly on several other sites I’ve done but with this server and a site this size it just never fully finished the migration. thanks
October 31, 2015 at 1:13 pm #132919BrianParticipantI am having the same problem. The backup of UPLOADS never completes successfully (or says it does but is not a valid zip file). I have about 130MB worth of media. I have tried downloading the zip file created by the backup and opening my PC and it does not open.
October 31, 2015 at 2:52 pm #132928udadminKeymasterHi Brian,
Please can you start a fresh thread, so that Jason’s issue doesn’t get lost/diverted? It’s best if each customer’s issue has its own thread.
Many thanks,
