March 13, 2017 at 7:21 pm #198678Dee NutbourneModeratorHi,
Please could you send us a copy of the original backup log for the migrated backup?
This can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the original site. The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

I was able to complete the migration manually to the new hosting account by copying all the files from the upload folder before we canceled the
hosting plan and theN manually uploading them via ftp to the new site. I then went into the database and changed
all the url’s to the new domain. The site is now up. If there is anything I can send you from the new site please let
me know and I’ll send that. The zip from my back up that had all the uploads in it was very large (+250mb). When I tried to unzip it
to do a manual migration of the site I kept getting a message that the zip was empty and contained no files even
though the zip was +250mb.Something is corrupting the larger zip files that updraft is creating for me. When it happens again I will
post in the thread and then get you a copy of the original backup log. Thanks for your help.

Apologies that the UpdraftPlus failed in this case.
From your description, it appears that the Uploads backup file was corrupted either during the backup itself, or during the transfer to the new site.

I was lucky in this case because I could still access the files Updraft was supposed to be backing up for me. I trust this application to make good backups of all my sites so I can restore them in case anything ever happens to them.
I appreciate your apology in this case but if the day comes that I need to restore a site and find out then that my backup file is corrupted and all my data is gone I’m not gonna be that happy.
what do I need to do make sure I actually have good working backups of all my other sites?
March 14, 2017 at 8:59 pm #198860ICVParticipantThis is what I am wondering myself. My uploads folders so far have only migrated correctly once and that was a few months ago. Since then all of my migration attempts on two different hosts (both dedicated and shared servers) have failed apparently on the uploads folders which have not been that large.
Now we dont know if the upload folders in my other backups on multiple sites are good…
March 15, 2017 at 5:05 pm #199018Dee NutbourneModeratorHi,
I’m afraid that the only real way to test for this (without knowing the specifics of the backup log) is to download a backup file from remote storage directly and attempt to unzip it.
If the backup file unzips, then it is fine.Best Wishes,
