Unable to copy files on MultiSite Network Addon Activation

Hi,

I’ve installed Updraft Plus and I have all addons. When I upload and network activate the plugin, I automatically get a message that the plugin I downloaded and uploaded has a updated version available (why are you providing an outdated version of the plugin to upload from your install page?). Then, when I connect to updraft in the plugin settings (enter my updraft credentials) I get the green checkmark on All Addons. However, it’s still not network active and still doesn’t act like I have all of my add ons. Then, I click on one of the individual addons and it seems to try to actually activate or update the addons (again, why isn’t this part of my download from the site?). Because of the way I have this particular server set up, it gives me the message that “The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files.”

So where can I get the plugin and addons that are up to date so I can upload them manually? This is a great plugin but a really terrible process for multisite blogs with all addons.

Nevermind. I just changed the server settings temporarily. But the process I described above has been true on the other multisite network as well.

Hi Nathan,

The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files.

This messages comes from WordPress core, and indicates that your WordPress install is configured in such a way that the file permissions and/or ownerships won’t allow a plugin to be upgraded. To resolve that, you should check your file permissions and ownerships so that PHP has full write access to all parts of the wp-content hierarchy.
