Hi There,
I am having an issue with a number of sites that I manage where zip archives are created as expected, uploaded to the remote storage as expected but then appear to be replaced with a zero byte file during the deletion process, this zero byte file is then uploaded over the top of the previously healthy file, replacing it on the external store and leaving a loose zero byte file locally.
This fault is intermittent, and impacts some files on some sites on some days, there does not appear to be any correlation between file size or type with the failure.
This appears to only impact sites configured to backup to S3, so may be related to the way the S3 module handles file deletion.
I’ve selected a site that uploads to both S3 and FTP as the logs more clearly show the file being generated and uploaded twice.Screen shot of empty files on hosting environment:

It is possible that the backup did not complete. Can you send us a full copy of the backup log for those dates please?

What’s the best way to send you the log? The file is over the maximum size for pastebin.
Here are the last few lines of the log, this indicates the backup completed:
7957.963 (1) There were no errors in the uploads, so the ‘resume’ event (2) is being unscheduled
7957.977 (1) The backup apparently succeeded (with warnings) and is now complete
7957.996 (1) Sending email (‘Files and database (Full backup)’) report (attachments: 1, size: 1187.8 KB) to: notif…
7959.132 (1) The backup apparently succeeded (with warnings) and is now complete.I’ve reviewed the warnings, there was a notification for a large file (debug.log) which I have removed and other notifications for large tables.
We provide enough resources for the database the backup consistently.April 17, 2019 at 3:23 am #376959hmaneModeratorHi Jaimin,
You can send the log file as an attachment or copy the contents into an online tool (such as https://pastebin.com/ )
Thanks,

Apologies for the late reply.
Please could you try to reduce the backup archive split size?
To do this, open the ‘expert settings’ section of the UpdraftPlus Settings tab, and find the ‘split backups every’ option. Set this to 100Mb save your settings and run a new backup.Do you still get the same problem?
