Hi.
I’ve been using UpdraftPlus for a while with no issue. I noticed my last backup to Google Drive sent most of the backup files to the correct place but also appeared to recreate the file structure of the file location of Google Drive with a new top-level folder with the correct name followed by “(1)”. Some backup files were then saved in this new folder. It also created a folder named ‘UpdraftPlus’ with some other backup files saved in this folder. The settings appear to have the correct path and some files from the backup were saved to the correct place – just not all of them.
Here is a copy of the backup log if this helps: https://controlc.com/890fc5da
Any ideas what may have caused this? I will see if this is repeated with my backup next week.
Thanks if you can help.

Please can you send us a screenshot of your Google Drive settings?
Also, can you try to update to latest version 2.16.20? Then try to run a new backup and see if that resolves the issue?
Regards,

November 11, 2019 at 7:59 am #457019DerekParticipantHi again, Bryle
So the good news is that all backup files got uploaded to the the correct Google Drive folder with no new folders created during my backup last night.
What I did notice was Updraft appearing to create 2 versions of some files in the backup directory so I now have several instances where I have files eg ‘backup_2019-11-11-0015_NorthStar_Wealth_Management_83efddefd099-uploads20.zip’ and ‘backup_2019-11-11-0015_NorthStar_Wealth_Management_83efddefd099-uploads20 (1).zip. Is this normal behaviour or could this cause an issue?
My most recent log: https://controlc.com/3651c375
Thanks.
November 11, 2019 at 2:44 pm #457183Bryle CroduaModeratorHi Derek,
That is a normal behaviour. UpdraftPlus splits the files in smaller archive sizes depending on the size of the component. By default, it is set to 400Mb.
The value can be changed in the UpdraftPlus “Settings” tab.Regards,

Thanks again. Just to confirm, I am aware that UpdraftPlus splits the archive, eg. ‘…..uploads35.zip’, ‘…..uploads36.zip’, etc. What I have not seen before is Updraft saving a file with the SAME number suffix and (presumable Google Drive) appending a ‘(1)’ to the filename so I have:
backup_2019-11-11-0015_NorthStar_Wealth_Management_83efddefd099-uploads36.zip
backup_2019-11-11-0015_NorthStar_Wealth_Management_83efddefd099-uploads36 (1).zipI’ve not seen files named like this before in any previous backup and just wanted to check this was not likely to cause an issue with any potential restoration as the filenames are potentially a little messed up. Can you confirm is this has changed in a recent update or what could be causing this.
Thanks.
