The next release of UpdraftPlus, version 1.9.40, s is ready, and planned for release later this week
This release has a healthily-long list of tweaks and new features, the main items of which are:
- Tested for compatibility with the up-coming WordPress 4.1 (which is scheduled for release next week)
- New feature (Premium) for convenient locking of your UpdraftPlus settings (and, developers who manage sites for other clients can now remove their updraftplus.com password from the update settings without affecting access to updates)
- The auto-backup feature (Premium) will now back up WordPress core before WordPress’s automatic background updates
- The Bitcasa storage option is now removed, following Bitcasa’s closing down of API access to their “Personal” product
- Improvements to labelling (Premium): automatic backups are now labelled, and labels are now picked up from backup sets imported locally
- The design of the “Existing Backups” tab has been simplified
- The settings for connecting to updraftplus.com for paid versions to receive add-ons and updates is now a tab in the main UpdraftPlus dashboard page – the separate page has been removed
- The in-dashboard log file viewer now updates in real-time as a backup progresses
- New Dansk / Danish translation (by Lars Lund and Lasse Jensen)
- Updated translations for many languages
Beyond that, there is a considerable number of small tweaks for efficiency and usability.
