upgrade confusion

    I’m getting a message in WP:

    The UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore plugin is up to date.

    Dismiss this notice.
    Warning: The installed version of UpdraftPlus Backup/Restore has not been tested on your version of WordPress (5.1). It has been tested up to version 4.9. You should update UpdraftPlus to make sure that you have a version that has been tested for compatibility.

    –However, when I do a check for updates, it says there are no updates. Which is it? I just paid to renew to update the software so I’m hoping you can help. I’m running Version 2.13.13.22 on WP 5.1.

    Michelle it looks like your version is quite a few releases back: https://updraftplus.com/changelog/

    I just downloaded from my account on UpdraftPlus and have 2.16.5.0:

    same error about not being tested on 5.1

    Apparently when you download directly from your dashboard you still don’t get the most recent version. I saw an update notice and moved to 2.16.6.0 and I still get the untested error:

    Hi,

    Can you please try to Wipe Settings from UpdraftPlus > Advanced Tools > Wipe Settings, Click the Wipe Settings button?

    Then connect to UpdraftPlus site from UPdraftPlus > Extensions, this will update the plugin to latest version on your registered website.

    I’m still getting the same error after wiping settings. Could it have something to do with my site being a multisite?

    Maybe I should try uninstalling the plugin and doing a fresh install?

    Ok one clarification first. Will I need to buy a multisite upgrade? I don’t want to have the site without backups so I want to get that worked out before I uninstall and reinstall.

    Hi Michele,

    What licence do you currently have? Do you have UpdraftPlus Premium? If yes, then you do not have to purchase the add-on separately as it is already included in the package.

    You also need to check that your licence has not yet expired.

    I’m starting to get *really* frustrated. So since I had paid for the premium online, I followed your instructions for reinstall at https://updraftplus.com/support/installing-updraftplus-premium-your-add-on/

    And I’m STILL getting the error:

    Your paid access to UpdraftPlus updates for this site has expired. You will no longer receive updates to UpdraftPlus. To regain access to updates (including future features and compatibility with future WordPress releases) and support, please renew.

    UpdraftPlus warning: This is a WordPress multi-site (a.k.a. network) installation. WordPress Multisite is supported, with extra features, by UpdraftPlus Premium, or the Multisite add-on. Without upgrading, UpdraftPlus allows every blog admin who can modify plugin settings to backup (and hence access the data, including passwords, from) and restore (including with customized modifications, e.g. changed passwords) the entire network. (This applies to all WordPress backup plugins unless they have been explicitly coded for multisite compatibility).

    — What is happening here? I’m about to give up and look for another backup solution. I’ve wasted quite a bit of time on something that should frankly take minutes.

    I haven’t heard back from my last message. I think our licenses are not properly assigned and I am not able to fix it in my dashboard. Are you able to fix it??

    Why am I not getting any more responses?? I’ve paid $70 for an upgrade and it is NOT WORKING!!
