I’m trying to use the Migrate tool and ‘Send a backup to another site’ but it keeps failing with the message below.
“Send to site: https://hostname/engine/
Testing connection…
Unexpected response: Error: cURL error 51: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name ‘hostname’ (http_request_failed). You should check that the remote site is online, not firewalled, does not have security modules that may be blocking access, has UpdraftPlus version 2.10.3 or later active and that the keys have been entered correctly.”I suspect the reason is because the receiving host certificate does not match (installed certificate is wildcard external domain which doesn’t match our internal domain name). I’ve tried issuing another certificate with the SAN including the server hostname but I continue to get the same message. I’ve also gone into the Updraft advanced options and disabled SSL but I still receive this same error message when attempting to ‘Send Backup to another site’. Has anyone else run into this error trying to do the migration from one server to another?

It appears that the connection is being cut off unexpectedly by the receiving server.
I would recommend asking you hosts/server admin for the new location to investigate why the connection is being cut off and show them the relevant error. You can also use one of the alternative transfer methods to migrate the backups to your new site. These can be found in Step 3 of the migration guide: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-do-i-migrate-to-a-new-site-location/

The cURL error 51 means that you need to replace your SSL certificate with one that matches (or includes) your new domain name.
Can you check that with your host? Thanks,
