[Already existing feature] Ability to add our own search and replace pairs for updates

I use the migration feature to sync live sites to dev sites on a weekly basis to keep the development versions in line with the production.

It would be very valuable to be able to have a search and replace form, and even beter the ability to save a search and replace profile that could be used to disable specific plugins and remove license numbers and replace API keys that are different from the production to the development sites.

    A custom search/replace has been possible for about 4 years – go into the relevant section in the ‘Advanced Tools’ tab.

      Not quite. We can search and replace the currently installed database.

      I want to be able to replace strings during the database backup.

      For instance, I could remove certain plugins from the active plugin list so that when the database is unpacked on a staging site I don’t have to go through and manually disable them all.

      Also these would need to be saved for reuse on subsequent backups/migrations.
