I’m thinking both timing and content. A prime example is the upload directory hierarchy. Often, it is large in size and not all that volatile on a percentage basis. In order to be safe, I include it in daily backups. being able to tailor the backup to include only ‘modified since’ would be very helpful in terms of providing a full record, reducing storage volume for the backup and improving backup processing time.
Incremental backup facility is not necessary but would be welcome.
Backupbuddy’s ‘profiles’ facility is a good model for the content/timing, but, does not include ‘modified since’.
For background: I partner with another firm to provide web design/dev/hosting. The hosting is only for our clients (not open to general public) and is fully managed WordPress. As part of the hosting we include a number of paid plugins (including Updraft) and we manage all maintenance including backup and provide the backup storage as part of the package. We currently support 70 clients and add new sites throughout the year.
I had used Backupbuddy but changed to UpdraftPlus for a variety of reasons. It has been an excellent decision. Thanks for a great product!
Hi,
Thank you. Please can you elaborate; is it different *timings of backups* that you’re interested in, or varying the *content* ?
David
