    Hi All,

We are looking at using Azure Storage for our offsite backups of our sites. We have 5 sites and I intend on keep the previous 5 backups. The backup will be performed weekly. I would probably get around 50GB to store all this, although it really should be much smaller.

So looking at Azure Storage can I use blob storage as this is much cheaper than file storage. Do I need hot storage or will cold storage do? Since I am keeping 5 and only doing weekly this would meet the requirements of 30 days.

Does UpdraftPlus create the zip file locally and then just copy the single zip file to remote storage?

If anyone has done this I would really appreciate some advice/insight into what you have chosen on Azure and what it is costing you.

    Hi,

Yes, you can use Microsoft Azure (blob storage) . It also depends on how frequently you access the files on your storage.

Yes, UpdraftPlus creates the zip files first on your local server and then send it to your remote storage.

    Regards,
