Backups Always Incomplete

    Good afternoon! We’re working on migrating our site from the original domain to one we’ve recently purchase (and it’s set up with UpdraftPlus, ready to go), but I keep running into the same issue- my backups never complete. I keep it running in the background, so I haven’t seen exactly when it quits, but it tends to be after 75% or so. It’s been three tries to simply back up and at least two to migrate in less than twenty four hours. Does anyone have any wisdom? Thanks!

    Please can you post a link to the backup log? Then we can take a look and suggest what might be up.

    Hi Rebecca,

    Thank you. I can see from the log file that the web server provides too low resources to allow larger zip files to be manipulated in the time it makes available. You can make the backup succeed by doing this:

    1) Go to the UpdraftPlus settings tab

    2) Scroll to the bottom, and open the ‘expert’ section

    3) Reduce the ‘split’ size down to 35Mb, and then save the settings

    Then start a fresh backup.
