I am having the same problem as outlined in the post below, and wasn’t sure where else to post or submit a ticket.

cannot update plugin – The package contains no files.

    Hi,

    Apologies,

It appears that old/expired licences are stuck on your account.
I have adjusted your licences, so the renewal message should now disappear. If this does not happen automatically, you can refresh your connection through the ‘Premium/Extensions’ tab.

Could you please try and update the plugin again?

    Regards,
    Bryle

Same issue here. I purchased an extension to my subscription but I can not update any of my sites.

Error reads … “Update failed: The package could not be installed.”

I also get the following error message … “Your paid access to UpdraftPlus updates for this site has expired. You will no longer receive updates to UpdraftPlus. To regain access to updates (including future features and compatibility with future WordPress releases) and support, please renew.”

However there is no option in my Account Panel to assign my new subscription to my old site domains. The interface and process is horrible. Totally frustrating.

    Please help.

The interface and process is horrible.

Agreed. I’m an experienced software user and developer, so UpdraftPlus, please take these complaints seriously.

Here’s an easy win: The following terms all get used – some of them mean the same thing, some don’t:

    • Purchase
    • Order
    • Subscription
    • License

Do I renew a Subscription or renew a License? Or both?
    Can both expire? Independently?

Simplifying the language, and using it consistently throughout the website and plugin, would be very helpful.

There’s also “Premium”, “Extensions” and “Add-ons”. Are all different? I can’t tell.

    Hi @rkauffman,

Error reads … “Update failed: The package could not be installed.”
    > Try de-install and re-installing the plugin. You can download a new version here – https://updraftplus.com/wp-content/uploads/updraftplus.zip

I also get the following error message … “Your paid access to UpdraftPlus updates for this site has expired. You will no longer receive updates to UpdraftPlus. To regain access to updates (including future features and compatibility with future WordPress releases) and support, please renew.”
    > To resolve this, please reconnect the plugin to our license server to refresh the connection.

I will also send your feedback to our development team so we can consider it if we update our website.
    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Thanks,
    Bryle
