I am trying to connect one of my sites to drop box and am getting the following error when I attempt to make the connection. I have removed the plugin and reinstalled and am still getting the error.

I have also wiped my setting and reset everything.. still getting the same error.

Dropbox/Curl error: Invalid app key (consumer key). Check your app’s configuration to make sure everything is correct. (Dropbox_Exception) (line: 177, file: /home/content/r/a/n/randybreland/html/wptest3/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Dropbox/OAuth/Consumer/Curl.php)

    Hi Randy,

Could I confirm that you have not set up a custom Dropbox developer app for UpdraftPlus (i.e. you have not followed this guide: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-can-i-use-my-own-dropbox-app/)?

What version of UpdraftPlus are you using? Could you update to the latest version and try again?

    Best Wishes,

I had created the app a long time ago, but have not been using it.. I deleted it a few minutes ago and tried again.

Downloaded the latest version of updraft, installed it and updated it.

    Still getting the same error.

    Hi Randy,

Can you link screenshots of the API keys shown in your Dropbox, and as typed in to UpdraftPlus? You should mark your reply as ‘private’ – then only updraftplus.com staff can see it (otherwise, you are giving other people access to the app – though, this doesn’t give access to your Dropbox; there’s a distinction between those two things).

    Hi,

Do you get the same result if you wipe all your settings (using the ‘Wipe Settings’ button in the ‘Advanced Tools’ tab), and try to set up the Dropbox access again?

I think that somehow, this setting is still being used. Though, I can’t work out how, if you’ve wiped everything. The ‘consumer key’ that Dropbox is saying is invalid is the same for every UD user (but this is the only problem report) – unless you’ve created a custom one. So, somehow, a custom one is still being sent to Dropbox.
