File not being excluded from backups

    Hi,

    The site I’m managing has one particularly large (3GB) backup zip file: /wp-content/uploads/2018/04/datafile.zip. I want to keep the file there, but exclude it from UDP backups.

    In the settings, I have specified the file should not be backed up–in the “Include in files backup” section, under the Uploads/Exclude section, I have this:

    backup*,*backups,backwpup*,wp-clone,snapshots,datafile.zip

    According to this helpfile, that should exclude the file, shouldn’t it? Or is it a problem because it/s in the 2018/04/ subfolders?

    How can I get UDP to skip just that file, but back up the rest of that folder?

    Hi Andrew,

    Could you try adding *datafile.zip? Then run a test backup. Does that work now?

    The correct thing to enter is:

    2018/04/datafile.zip

    i.e. Complete setting:

    backup*,*backups,backwpup*,wp-clone,snapshots,2018/04/datafile.zip
