Migration dosen’t change all URLs

After running a migration with the URL search option, I need to run a separate search and replace to update all the URLs. Using the Better Search Replace plugin, it finds and updates 100 URLs in the posts table. Please fix this so migration doesn’t require extra steps.

Hi Greg,

There should be no extra step required to change all URL’s when using migrator. It is possible that you have not installed the add-on. You should see the “Search and replace database” option in the migration process. Like this – https://updraftplus.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/restore_modal_database2.png

Hi Greg,

For us to check further, can you share to us the migration log please?
You can find this log in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of your new site location.
You can send the log file as an attachment or copy the contents into an online tool (such as https://pastebin.com/ )

Updraft does not replace the GUIDs. That should be fixed.

This is a bug, not a feature request. When migrating a site, all URLs need to be changed. Nobody is ever going to want “localhost” or “staging” in the GUIDs.

If you are purposefully skipping GUIDs, make that very clear in the interface. When I check a box that says “Search and replace site location” (ie, the URL), that’s what I expect to happen. I do not expect some to be skipped.
