Hi,
I am migrating a WP Multisite installation from one host to another. I used Updraft Plus and the Multisite add-on to facilitate this.I grabbed what I thought was a full db backup and I used UP to move restore the multisite database.
While some of the sites in the network transferred fine, but some didn’t, including this one: https://safa.brooklynhistory.org/fellowship2013
When I try to hit the site, I get an “Error Establishing a Database Connection”Did I not get or restore the full db because of Multisite permissions? Any ideas would be very welcome.
Thanks,
JeffMarch 21, 2015 at 8:46 pm #102270udadminKeymasterThat’s very strange, as WP connects to its database at a very early stage in its load – before it starts working out *which* site you’re on. It has to, necessarily – because the information about which sites correspond to which URLs is in the database; as is much else. The DB connection is one of the first operations in WP loading. So, my guess would be that something else is going on… is that URL really going into the same WP installation? Is something in the webserver setup diverting it elsewhere?
Best wishes,

I found a bunch of missing files from the blog.dir folder, moved them over and tried to hit the main page (https://safa.brooklynhistory.org/) and it sends me here (https://safa.brooklynhistory.org/wp-signup.php?new=safa.brooklynhistory.org) and I get the dreaded “webpage has a redirect loop” error…ugh.Redirect loops normally come from an incorrect .htaccess setup… or whatever the equivalent on your webserver is. So, you should check that your .htaccess file matches the setup guide for WP multisite. This seems to be the codex page with the details: https://codex.wordpress.org/Multisite_Network_Administration
March 27, 2015 at 1:14 am #104024JeffreyParticipantHi,
I have decided to start fresh: I cannot get in to my old site.I want to use the multisite addon I purchased to facilitate this transfer. I believe it was for only one install. Since I cannot login to the old site, I cannot uninstall.
Can you please allow me to reinstall or help? The updraft plugin coincided with this not working at all and it has really set me back in terms of time.
Thanks,

Please can you let me know your order number, so that I can look at doing this?
