For some reason my site has become inaccessible to the admin – I have had to remove the site – reinstall WordPress and then restore. Fine so far, however, having set up an administrator account on setting up the new wordpress install – restoring (I’ve now done this a couple of times) results in my admin account not being recognised – even putting in my email address associated with the account results in:

“Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.”

So my site is up, but i have no way of accessing the admin pages. http://www.rnmedics.com.

Any suggestions, please. I find it hard to understand that my restore will have removed my existing admin account.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

When you restore a database, you’d expect all your user accounts to be replaced by those in the database – the WordPress database contains all your user accounts, so restoring one will restore those.

    Best wishes,
    David
