Updraft Plus.. activation and migration.. Im lost

Hi there,
I purchased Updraft Plus, but I clearly missed something, but I couldve sworn I did a migration once, and now I need to do a migration again and several things went wrong. First, I installed it on the site of the devs that were helping me with the site. It said “claim” it, so I did, while logged in remotely to their site. Now I feel like I’ve just given them my copy. Is that so?
My main site is at realinteresting.com, but I create sites for clients as sub-domains. Sometimes I host them, sometimes I dont. When I don’t, I’d like to use your product to migrate.

1. Did I screw up the ‘ownership’ of the tool?
2. Can I de-claim it, and claim it appropriately?
3. Can I use what I purchased to migrate a site to a different host?
