I used the Clone function to redesign a site for a client. The site is complete and migrated to their live domain. Now they are trying to run Google Ads and Google is finding the clone URLs attached to images still, and flagging them as malicious. I can’t find a way to remove those links anywhere.
I have deleted the clone and cached the site. The links can’t be found using inspect element, but when I save the HTML I can find them.
EMAIL FROM GOOGLE STATES:
My findings:
The specialist team reviewed the website: https://monicabrowningphotography.com/ and I was informed that unfortunately, we can still find a malicious link ‘updraftclone[.]com’ in the most recent system scan.
One of the affected landing pages is: https[:]//monicabrowningphotography[.]com/maternity/.
What you can do:Kindly remove the malicious link https://vgmy2vdxmbb.c.updraftclone with the help of your webmaster and let me know by replying to this email so that I can get this issue resolved for you.
Please ensure that you are checking the offending URL across all platforms of their site.
Please help!

UpdraftPlus does have a tool to search and replace the database which can be used to update links if they were not updated in the migration. To do this:
Go to the Advanced Tools tab in the UpdraftPlus dashboard
Find the Search/Replace Database tool
In ‘Search for’, enter the original site domain
In ‘Replace with’, enter the new site URL
Click ‘Go’PLEASE NOTE, this performs a full search and replace operation on the database, and is not reversible. Please take extreme care when inputting the URLs.
After clicking Go, every instance of the old URL will be replaced by the new. Please could you also clear any caches your site is using?
Best Wishes,

I did already use something like that with another plugin and it said it didn’t find anything with the old domain but it’s still in the HTML. I have cleared the cache through a plugin and through GoDaddy itself.

I checked the site and could not find any links that leads to the UpdraftClone link above. Can you check again with them if they still those links?
Thanks,

https://monicabrowningphotography.com/maternity/ – uploads/2020/05/0M1A9177-Edit-683×1024.jpgMaybe you can manually fix.
