    I have upgraded to version 2.12.35.22 and every time I now try to load up the plugins/Installed Plugins page it takes ages for the page to load. I have disabled all plugins and added them back one by one and as soon as UpdraftPlus plugin is activate the problem occurs every time you try and load the plugins page. I am guessing that it is calling home to check for updates an not using the WP repository which is why it is so slow. This was no a problem prior to version 2.12.35.22.

    Hi,

    Please could you open your browser’s developer tools (instructions here), and reload the UpdraftPlus settings page.

    Do any errors appear on this page? Please could you send us a copy of those errors?

    I have enabled the console mode and checked for errors and none are displayed, I had actually already checked that before you asked. I have rechecked things on a local copy of the site that has the previous version of your plugin running on it and it did not slow down the Plugins page or the Dashboard/Updates page. As soon as I update to the latest version both of these pages are now slow in loaded. What I can also tell you is checking the Network activity within Safari the issue is nothing to do with some external JS / CSS / Image file being delayed and slowing down the pages but the actual plugins.php where where I believe your plugin is either calling home for update checks or it is doing something else at this stage.

    Having the same problem on all my sites when trying to upgrade to version 2.12.35.22. When I run the updater for only updraftplus it sends the site into maintenance mode for 8-10 minutes before it comes back and updraft plus is NOT upgraded. I try it again and get the exact same results.

    Hi,

    This indicates that a firewall is blocking the updates check. However, instead of returning a response, the firewall appears to be silently dropping the packets. As such, UpdraftPlus has to wait for a timeout before it can continue

    You will need to allow the check through the firewall, or configure the firewall to send back a ‘denied’ response.

    Alternatively, you can disable the updates check by deleting the following directory:
    wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/udaddons
