Currently the “Backups available” displays show what backup sets have been created. If somehow one of the files in the set gets deleted, the display will still show the file. Attempting to download it gets “file not found”, and obviously a recover does not work.
I would like to know about a missing file before I need to recover the web site.
While recovering a site, it might take me a while to figure out why the recover failed.
How about indicating someway that the files are not there.
One way would to disable the icon and change its visual appearance – color, a red diagonal, a skull and cross bones, or some such.

+1 for that, a simple “backup set not found”, instead of displaying those backups would be ideal.
