Number of backups to keep on site vs remote storage

I want to keep the file size on my hosting low, but want to store at least 30 backups in my remote storage.

There is only one setting for how many backups to keep, and it looks like it holds them in both places (local and remote).

Too many folks get hacked and don’t discover it for a while. We need to be able to step back as far as necessary to get a clean backup. That may be 10 or more backups ago.

I don’t want to have to hold that many on my hosting too.

    Hi,

    By default – unless you change the setting in the ‘expert’ settings section – backups are not kept locally; after they have been successfully copied to the remote storage, the local version is deleted.So if you haven’t changed that setting, and you have backups hanging around, then something is going wrong. You should check that setting and check the backup log file.
