Hi all, hi David,
I’m not sure if this has been asked before (no forum search?) or if this is the right place to ask for a feature:
Are there any plans to improve the backup scheduling? Our usual approach is to keep 7 daily, 4 weekly and 12 monthly backups for most of our client’s sites, mostly in order to be able to keep a full year of backups without having to store 365 backups.
So what I am asking is, wouldn’t it make sense and be relatively easy to be able to add more than one schedule for databases and files?
And one other thing I would really like: Could you look into the possibility to selct and mass delete old backups. As it is now, it is quite tedious to get rid of unneded backups after a while..
Cheers,
Michael

There’s a forum search on the main forum page, and a site-wide search (which includes the forum) at the top right of every page.
First, you’ll like this: we’ve got easy multiple delete coded in our internal development version, and it should be in the next release. See: https://updraftplus.com/deleting-multiple-backups/
Concerning multiple schedules, it is something we are very interested in. We’ve not yet decided the best way architecturally to handle it. Some people are interested in making it more complicated: weekly backups only go to Amazon, monthly backups only go to Dropbox, etc. And different numbers retained in each. We’re still puzzling out the best pathway to get from here to there, whilst keeping everything installed working. I can’t promise any timescale,s but it’s something we’ve been actively thinking about how best to accomplish. The improvements in the “remote storage” UI in our last release were intended as part of paving the way to this sort of thing.

awesome, and what a coincidence aksing for something you wrote about today ;-)
Regarding the upgraded scheduling, beeing able to individually schedule for different backup locations is actually a great idea and would be more than welcome.
So I hope for bad wheather, nothing on TV and a lot of time for you to make this happen ;-)
No seriously, UdP is the best backup solution anyway and that would be the icing on the cake. Right now we have scripts running, deleting the unnecessary backups, but integrating this into UdP would even better. I’ll keep my fingers crossed :-)
Thanks
Michael

You had that up you sleeve, right? Or did you pull an allnighter and that’s it?
What a great news, thank you so much!!!
