    Hi Updraft,

    I used to test my backup on my backup site, but lately migrating/recovering it keeps processing. I waited over an hour and it still doesn’t recover. I tried on different locations, so i can’t say it’s my pc or firewall and i also tried firefox instead of chrome, but my backups won’t go past processing.

    Can you please help me?

    Hi Jeff,

    Please could you send us a copy of some of the latest restoration logs?
    These can be found in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of the site via FTP.

    Hi David,

    i tried a new backup again yesterday and it was stuck on precesssing again and it doesn’t create a log file. So i tried to recover seperately. First theme, plugin and other and worked instantly. Then i tried uploads of almost 800mb worked fine. Finally i did the database (with migraton) and there is where it gets stuck on processing. It doesn’t load, give an error message or anything.

    So i guess there is where the problem is. Can you help me with that?

    Hi,

    Please could you open your browser’s developer console (instructions here), then attempt to restore the database again?

    At the point that the process halts, you should see some errors appear in the console.
    Please could you send us a copy of those errors?

    I tried an older backup after that and that did work and i tried one of the latest on a local host and that worked aswel, but now i don’t know if the created backup is the problem or the website i put it on is the problem?

    Hi Jeff,

    It appears that there may be a conflict on the site that is breaking UpdraftPlus’ JavaScript.

    If possible. please could you try temporarily deactivating the other plugins on the site, and repeating the test?

    Hi David,

    I put recovered it on a new installed wordpress using installatron, so there are not manny plugins to deactivate. So is it a plugin on the site i’m recovering on or is it a plugin in the backup file that is causing the problem?

    The conflict will come from a plugin (or possibly the theme) that is already installed and active on the site.

    Hi David,

    No problem :)

    I also tried to recover on a clean localhost install of wordpress and on my other site with the normal WP theme and all plugins uninstalled and it says (503 Service unavailable) over and over again in the browser developer console.

    There is no way to find out what plugin is causing the problem? I just need to uninstall them step by step and make a new backup till it works to find out or something?

    Hi Jeff,

    The easiest way to determine the cause of the issue is to deactivate the plugins one-by-one, and take a test backup. This does not need to be a full backup. The plugin does not need to be completely removed.
