Unable to create key

    When I click the “Create Key” button, nothing happens. I used to be able to migrate websites with no problem several months ago. The plugin has updated several times since then. Now it does not work at all. This is useless. Please refund my yearly renewal fee that I paid in Sept if you cannot get this to work properly or I will take the matter up with my credit card. Thank you.

    Hi James,

    Apologies for the late response.

    Could you run the following test with your browser’s developer tools?

    • In your browser, open your Developer Tools (instructions on how to do this for each major browser can be found here)
    • Open the ‘Console’ tab if it is not already open
    • Reload the page and attempt to create key

    Do you see any errors appear in the developer console? Could you send me a copy of screenshot of those errors?

    Alternatively, if direct site to site migration fails to work, the quickest way around is to use one of the alternative transfer methods to send your backups to your new site. These can be found in Step 3 of the migration guide: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-do-i-migrate-to-a-new-site-location/

    I recommend using the same remote storage location. eg. Dropbox

    Is there a fix for this issue? I have the same problem. No keys get generated. The developer console displays no errors. After giving the key a name and hitting ‘create’ the browser seems to work a while and after ‘finishing’ the given name disaperas and no key is created.

    FYI. Creating the keys is working in Firefox but not in Chrome browser.

    Hi Michael,

    Are you using any extensions or plugins for Chrome? If so, could you temporarily deactivate them (through the Chrome More Tools->Extensions page) and attempt to generate a new key?

    I have reinstalled my Kaspersky Antivirus and now it works in all browsers.
