Why the change?
Much of the WordPress community has heard of UpdraftPlus.
It’s one of the most frequently downloaded plugins in the WordPress ecosystem. It’s certainly the most popular backup and migration plugin, with more than 3 million active installs according to the WordPress plugin directory.
Many people have also heard of WP-Optimize and All-In-One Security (AIOS).
But fewer people know that they’re all from the same respected team that first launched UpdraftPlus back in 2011.
Pulling together three of our biggest WordPress plugins under the new TeamUpdraft parent brand will help to improve visibility of the plugin suite, transfer some of the brand equity from UpdraftPlus to smaller plugins, and make it easier for users to buy.
Good news for affiliates
Design, content, messaging, user flow and checkout experience have been dramatically improved, delivering a vastly better experience for our shared users.
In addition, as an approved affiliate of one brand, you’re automatically approved to promote other plugins in the suite, whether UpdraftPlus, WP-Optimize or AIOS.
UpdraftPlus add-on changes
You won’t be able to purchase individual UpdraftPlus Premium features as add-ons to the free version. (Existing users can still renew their current add-ons.)
At the moment, individual features of UpdraftPlus Premium can be bought separately as add-ons to the free plugin from the updraftplus.com shop.
Examples include the Microsoft OneDrive add-on, and the more files add-on as well as UpdraftMigrator.
We looked at the data and overwhelmingly, 90% of purchases are for the bundled UpdraftPlus Premium product which includes every premium backup and migration feature, for one low price (as well as premium support, and access to updates). Only 10% are purchasing individual features as add-ons to the free plugin.
As a result, most add-ons will be removed from the new site. The only ones we’ll continue to sell are UpdraftCentral, UpdraftClone and UpdraftVault (available in 5GB, 15GB, 50GB and 250GB plans).
This change won’t affect existing customers, who can continue renewing their current add-on subscriptions.
We would encourage you to update your current content to reflect the changes. For example, instead of talking about the ‘OneDrive add-on’, talk about backing up to OneDrive as a feature of UpdraftPlus Premium instead.
Logging into your account
Once the migration is complete, you’ll log in at teamupdraft.com.
- If your email is associated with only one website (e.g., updraftplus.com), you’ll log in with your existing password.
- If you have accounts on multiple websites (e.g., UpdraftPlus and WP-Optimize), you may need to reset your password.
We’ll email you about this when we transition to the new website.

Important information about your affiliate URL
Your affiliate URL will change
- We’ll send you your new affiliate URL as soon as it’s live—please watch for emails from us.
- To ensure you receive updates, add [email protected] to your safe senders list.
Affiliate URL redirection
After the new website launches, your existing affiliate URL will automatically redirect users to the new domain, and your referral information will still be tracked.
What this means for you:
- You don’t need to update your affiliate URL immediately.
- If you’re using your current affiliate URL to direct visitors to our old website(s), they’ll be seamlessly redirected to the new site.
- Your visits and referrals from the old URL will continue to be tracked and visible in your new account dashboard.
This redirection will stay in place for two months after launch, giving you time to update your affiliate tracking URL.
When will teamupdraft.com launch?
We’re aiming to launch within the next couple of weeks. Our guiding star is ensuring a seamless transition for our users and affiliates so we won’t launch unless we’re 100% satisfied that we’re ready.
