    Error reads … “Update failed: The package could not be installed.”

    I also get the following error message … “Your paid access to UpdraftPlus updates for this site has expired. You will no longer receive updates to UpdraftPlus. To regain access to updates (including future features and compatibility with future WordPress releases) and support, please renew.”
    > To resolve this, please reconnect the plugin to our license server to refresh the connection.

    I will also send your feedback to our development team so we can consider it if we update our website.

    The interface and process is horrible.

    Agreed. I’m an experienced software user and developer, so UpdraftPlus, please take these complaints seriously.

    Here’s an easy win: The following terms all get used – some of them mean the same thing, some don’t:

    • Purchase
    • Order
    • Subscription
    • License

    Do I renew a Subscription or renew a License? Or both?
    Can both expire? Independently?

    Simplifying the language, and using it consistently throughout the website and plugin, would be very helpful.

    There’s also “Premium”, “Extensions” and “Add-ons”. Are all different? I can’t tell.

    You can purchase the subscription again. Just make sure you are logged in to your UpdraftPlus account and our system will automatically adjust your license expiration.

    Hi,

    1. I’m afraid it is not possible. You can still renew your license for next year but you will have to do it manually. You just need to login to your UpdraftPlus.com account and purchase the plugin again.

    Hi Robin,

    You can renew in advance or after your license expires. Our system will automatically extend a year to your current subscription.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the confusion.

    Our record shows that your license will not expire until – 2021-11-13. It is yet too early for you to renew.
    Renewal period is between 4 weeks before and 6 weeks after your license expires.

    You have a subscription license this time and base on our records it should automatically renew on May 14, 2022. No need to manually renew your license.

    Hi,

    If you are on a subscription already, you do not need to renew your license at all as it will auto renew by itself. It will just cause duplicate subscriptions.

    Nw it works for all websites, thank you
    strange, the last backups were from september 2020 then it stopped, the expiry or renewal of the license was in january 2021

    Hi Wendy,

    You may have accidentally switched to subscription type license on your last renewal. This will also resolve the license getting stuck issue since you don’t have to manually renew your license yearly.

    Same thing is happening to my account. I already renewed my premium license and it is ‘active’ in my account view. But I still got a message ‘Your paid access to UpdraftPlus updates for this site has expired. You will no longer receive updates to UpdraftPlus. To regain access to updates (including future features and compatibility with future WordPress releases) and support, please renew.’

    I used FTP to update plugin and it seemed update was successful. My plugin version is 2.16.43.0. But still got same message to tell me to renew.

    Today, I found that there is new update. But I couldn’t update. Do I need to use FTP again?

    I am afraid that your licencing server did not recognise my purchase as a renewal

    I also paid for a new license a few months ago.

    Can you please adjust my license so the renewal message would disappear as well?

    Hi,

    Question 1: Why would my license be canceled prior to the end date?
    > You renewed and selected ‘Automatic’ renewal with Subscription #471272 from ‘Manual’ option last December 02, 2019. However, your licence expiry date at the time of renewal is still from the first time you’ve purchased UpdraftPlus which is December 27. Your Subscription #471272 automatically renewed last November 28, 2020 and has been cancelled since payment has not been received and was tagged as ‘overdue’, then to ‘suspended’ status.

    Question 2: Why can’t I update my payment method prior to license expiration?
    > You need to create a whole NEW subscription and update your billing details as well.

    Question 3: Why doesn’t the coupon code work?
    > You are still able to get 40% discount. Just visit our shop page https://updraftplus.com/shop/updraftplus-premium/ (input the URL manually on your browser) and select ‘Subscription’ renewal method. Add to cart the same licence type/plan and at checkout apply ‘fortyoffrenewal’ coupon code.
