I wandered through GoDaddy’s CPanel PHP Options and discovered that ZIP was not selected. Must have been disabled when upgrading to CPanel. Backup is currently running and has already passed the usual hang up around 10 resumptions and has created 6 Upload zip files. Hopefully, this solves the problem. The following log information for Binary ZIP found looks encouraging.

0000.323 (0) Checking if we have a zip executable available
    0000.340 (0) Testing: /usr/bin/zip
0000.346 (0) Output: zip warning: binziptest/test.zip not found or empty
    0000.347 (0) Output: adding: binziptest/subdir1/ (in=0) (out=0) (stored 0%)

    0000.348 (0) Output: adding: binziptest/subdir1/subdir2/test.html (in=131) (out=107) (deflated 18%)

That certainly did the trick even with the Uploads folder checked! Thanks for discovering the zip issue. Here is the last backup log with a normal EOJ:

10277.998 (26) There were no errors in the uploads, so the ‘resume’ event (27) is being unscheduled
10278.013 (26) No report will be sent to this address, as it is configured to receive them only when there are errors or warnings: corve…
10278.013 (26) The backup apparently succeeded and is now complete
