OK I will.
I have reinstalled WordPress on the Receiving site.
I have enabled the Clone/Migrator.
I have created the key.
I also made the suggested update to wp-config.

When I go the the SENDING site, I have no way o re-entering the key. Is it going to try to use the same key?

I tried this again on a fresh install of WordPress, Installed Updraft. Connected it to Premium and Dropbox.
Upon making my selections in the Receiving site to Restore all Options (checkboxes).
I received an identical error dialog a number of times. Each time dismissing it. I think it appeared for each choice: Plugins, images, etc…

Nothing was restored no change in default WP site..
So I then re-scanned remote storage and made sure to choose the backup I wanted.
Again same error.

I tried a manual restore. Backed-up and downloaded from site A.
Restored to Site B.
Still errors.
I can open the archives ok on my Local.

Hi James,

In the latest screenshots, the uploads zip file is only 29MB. Earlier log files from the same site suggest that the created zip file is much larger than that – and hence, that the problem is in the transporting of the zip file into the destination file. Please can you confirm what size the zip file which you can successfully open on your computer is, the one with exactly the same filename as shown as corrupt and 29MB in your most recent screenshot?

I realize now that the UPLOADS folder did not extract properly locally. It was partial…
My mistake in telling you that.

What I have surmised, is that I believe the issue is related to the Dropbox Integration. I use Dropbox for business so we have 1 TB per user, space is not the problem. However there is something that doesn’t work well when backing up large folders to Dropbox here.

I just backed up again from the SOURCE site. That ended successfully according to the status.

1569.425 (5) There were no errors in the uploads, so the ‘resume’ event (6) is being unscheduled
1569.429 (5) No email will/can be sent – the user has not configured an email address.

I start to download the Backups Updraft created, which it appears, are only saved on Dropbox when “save to remote site” is selected. I do not see the archives on the website via FTP browsing. I did not know that.

When I get to the uploads backup, and start “download” I get the Error dialog:

If I hit OK and download anyhow, that .zip file is 20.1 on my local disk. I beleive that the uploads folder is simply not completing saving on Dropbox.

At this point I am now downloading the entire UPLOADS folder from the SOURCE site. I will try uploading it to the RECEIVING site as is.
I will perform a manual restore of the unzipped backups according to your instructions with the exception of this UPLOADS folder.

One question: In this case it is a CLONE operation I am performing. Bu the name and url and user/password will be different then the source.
I will import database by following the manual migration instructions for the Database, leaving the same user/pass info for this site. And edit the site name etc..info in WordPress admin itself. Spund good?

For my 3 other sites I have cloned using your tool, this is how I have done that part before. Cloning the Themes, Plugins and Uploads successfully with Dropbox and Updraft. Updating the site info in the ADMIN leaving user / pass the same for simplicity sake.

Hi James,

Thank you for your patience! With the “Unexpected Response” error that you are seeing, this is caused by a buggy webserver which is ignoring a command to stop sending data to the browser, and as a result the browser is receiving more data than it should. We have added a work-around to the next release of UpdraftPlus (due out later this month) for this.

Unfortunately, that is unlikely to be related to the integrity of the uploads zip itself. To investigate this, to correlate the various things going on, what we need is two links:
1) To the log file for a backup that had this problem
2) To a copy of the uploads zip as found in Dropbox itself (i.e. Dropbox link directly to what UpdraftPlus uploads – not to something potentially downloaded/uploaded again).

Thanks for the investigation!
I ended up manually moving the files and DB over, then editing the DB tables as needed. I am done with this particular “Cloning” task having .

I am going to start cloning 2 other sites today.I’ll see how that goes and report any issues that I can’t figure out.

Hi James,

The link in your most recent post isn’t for the same backup run as the one in the post before (i.e. the log). The way to tell is to look at the 12-digit hex sequence that appears in both filenames. i.e. for logs + backups from the same set, those 12 digits will be the same. We do need to get access to both log and zip for the same backup (and for it to be a backup that resulted in a problematic restore), so that we can correlate them.
